There is no single right interval
Detailing frequency depends on where your vehicle lives and what it does. A car garaged overnight and driven a few miles a day needs far less than a truck parked outside that tows on weekends. The honest answer is a range, not a number.
Murphy is near our Wylie base and we are owner-operated, so we would rather set you up on a rhythm that makes sense than sell you a detail you do not need yet.
A practical baseline
Exterior detail with clay bar decontamination: roughly twice a year for most daily drivers, ideally at the start of summer and again heading into winter. That is when bonded contamination has had time to accumulate.
Ceramic spray sealant: our sealant provides up to six months of hydrophobic protection, so reapplying it alongside each exterior detail keeps you continuously covered.
Interior deep clean: once or twice a year for most vehicles, more often if you have kids, pets, or eat in the car. Steam extraction on carpets and upholstery is the part that resets an interior rather than just tidying it.
Signs you are overdue
Paint feels rough or gritty when you run a clean hand over it after a wash. Water no longer beads and sheets off. Wheel faces stay dark no matter how you rinse them. Carpets look clean but smell stale. Trim has gone gray and hazy.
Any of those means you have moved past what washing can fix and into decontamination and protection territory.
